The Birch Catkin Bug Kleidocerys resedae is
one of approximately 90 British ground bug species and as the common name
suggests it may be found feeding on the catkins of Birch Betula spp.,
often in very large numbers. The camouflage becomes more effective when the
insects are feeding on older catkins.
