18 – Black-centred Click Beetles
BLACK-CENTRED
CLICK BEETLE Ampedus sanguinolentus
- This
colourful and rather uncommon, Black-centred Click or Skipjack Beetle Ampedus
sanguinolentus was found at a heathland site. The elytra have been
raised and the wings extended prior to take-off. The photograph was taken
with a high-resolution (for the time!) Nikon D300 digital camera.
