HEATHER SHIELDBUG Rhagognathus punctatus

·         The bronze-coloured Heather Shieldbug Rhagothnathus punctatus is an uncommon and rather unassuming little shieldbug that inhabits heathlands – an increasingly rare habitat in the UK. This bug is a predator of leaf beetles and their larvae. The pale median line on the pronotum appears to be a consistent feature and it may assist with the identification of this insect.
