·         The Dusky Cockroach Ectobius lapponicus is one of three harmless non-commensal native cockroach species inhabiting the UK (the others being the Tawny Cockroach E. pallidus and the Lesser Cockroach E. panzeri). This means that they are not domestic pests and they may be left unmolested. These insects are relatively small and inconspicuous and therefore easily overlooked.
