The
Azure Damselfly Coenagrion puella is one of the most abundant British
species and it may be found in all areas apart from the northern half of
Scotland. There are several other blue damselflies that might cause confusion
so careful examination of the markings and a well-illustrated reference book to
enable comparison are recommended. The final few photographs illustrate
reproductive behaviour, something that this insect indulges in quite a lot!
