- There are about two dozen British species of parasitic Conopid or Thick-headed Flies including the sexually dimorphic and rather intriguingly named Puffer-jacket Bee-grabber Conops ceriaeformis. Some conopids are very convincing wasp mimics and these flies parasitise bees and wasps.
