                                                                                                                                                MOLE CRICKET Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa (f)

·         The elusive Mole Cricket Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa (the scientific name means precisely the same as the vernacular, albeit twice!) is rarely easy to photograph as it will usually try to bury itself at the slightest disturbance. However, this splendid female was spotted on a horse-track in the South of France and, although highly mobile, it was possible to take a short sequence before she disappeared.
