LARGE SALLOW MINING BEE Andrena apicata (m)

 

·         A one-off photograph of a male Large Sallow Mining Bee Andrena apicata. With thanks to Steven Falk for confirming the identification. Although described as being widespread but scarce in the South of England this bee is stated to be very rare in the Vice-county of Surrey (VC17) where the above photograph was taken.
