DIGGER WASP Cerceris interrupta (f)

·         This attractive digger wasp was photographed in Esquièze-Sère in the Hautes-Pyrénées, France, during 2007. I am grateful to Jeremy Early and Ian Cross for kindly identifying this wasp as a female Cerceris interrupta, one of several similar looking species with white rather than the yellow abdominal markings often observed in other members of the same genus.
