·         The Marbled Beauty Moth Cryphia domestica (Noctuidae, Bryophilinae) is a small, cryptically patterned insect that is extremely well camouflaged when at rest on lichen-covered trees or rocks. Appropriately, the larvae feed on these lichens. The wing-markings are variable in intensity, but there is some consistency in the presence of a complete black wavy border to the rear of the whitish cross-band near the front of the forewings, the continuity of which distinguishes this moth from other members of the same genus. This species is readily attracted to artificial light.
