DINGY FOOTMAN MOTH Eilema griseola

The Dingy Footman Moth Eilema griseola is one of several similar species belonging to the family Arctiidae, so appropriate references will probably be required to separate them by non-experts. The shape of the forewings and the extent of the yellow markings are significant. This freshly emerged example was photographed in Powys, North Wales, where it had been attracted to light. Damp habitats are favoured.
