Freshly emerged Antler Moths Cerapteryx
graminis are comparatively easy to identify
as the markings of these Noctuid moths are distinctive (as shown in the
first series of photographs of a pristine male). However, the wings may become
damaged, losing scales, as the moths age. This moth may sometimes be seen
feeding during the day if the weather is favourable. The photographs were taken
in Powys, North Wales.
