The Angle
Shades Moth Phlogophora meticulosa (Noctuidae, Amphipyrinae) is a common and distinctively marked insect that
may be encountered in gardens as their larvae will eat a variety of foodplants.
The wing-shape is characteristic and unusual so they may be difficult to spot
when resting on dead leaves. The first two photographs were taken in France and
the remainder in the UK.
