BUFF FOOTMAN MOTH Eilema depressa

·         The Buff Footman Moth Eilema depressa (Arctiidae) is one of several grey and yellow species belonging to the same genus that habitually rest with their wings rolled up. They are not always easy to separate, particularly if worn, or if, as in this case, the extent of the orange stripes along the margins of the forewings have been partly obscured in photographs. The larvae feed on lichens and mosses. Photographed in London.
