BLOTCHED EMERALD MOTH Comibaena bajularia

·         The Blotched Emerald Moth Comibaena bajularia (Geometridae, Geometrinae) has been well named and little further description of its appearance is required. There are several other species of Emerald Moths and none of these share the distinctive brown and white blotches on their wings. The moth is on the wing in mid-summer and it is associated with Oak woodlands. The larvae feed on Oak Quercus spp.
