BRINDLED BEAUTY MOTH Lycia hirtaria (m)

 

·         The markings of the Brindled Beauty Moth Lycia hirtaria, family Geometridae (Ennominae) are variable, and some specimens, particularly females, may be dark with indistinctive wing-markings. This moth is on the wing during the spring, and the larvae will feed on a variety of deciduous trees and shrubs. The photograph has been scanned from a transparency.
