WAVED UMBER MOTH Menophra

·
Although there is some variation in colour, the
combination of the dark banding and scalloping of the wing margins of the Waved
Umber Moth Menophra abruptaria
(Geometridae) will enable this species to be
separated from other British moths. These markings break up the outline
beautifully when the moth is at rest on tree bark or on other wooden surfaces. The above example was photographed in London.
