SMALL EMERALD MOTH Hemistola chrysoprasaria

·         This freshly emerged Small Emerald Moth Hemistola chrysoprasaria, family Geometridae (Geometrinae) was photographed at a site in Surrey. The tips of the forewings are less angular than those of other Emeralds, and the arrangement of the gently curved white lines is distinctive. The larvae feed on Clematis spp.
