ENGRAILED MOTH Ectropis bistortata

·         The Engrailed Moth Ectropis bistortata belongs to the large family Geometridae (Ennominae). This moth is one of several cryptically marked geometrid moths with similar and sometimes quite variable markings (including dark morphs), and, at the time of writing the classification of this species has yet to be clarified as further genetic studies are required to determine if moths previously considered to be Small Engrailed E. crepuscularia by morphological examination are a distinctly different species – or not.
