SMALL BLOOD-VEIN MOTH Scopula imitaria

·         The Small Blood-vein Moth Scopula imitaria (Geometridae, Sterrhinae) is a common, widespread, and familiar moth that is often attracted to light. There is some variation in the ground colour and the intensity of the markings, and all four wings are angled. The larvae imitate small twigs, so they are probably easily overlooked. They are reported to feed on Privet Ligustrum ovalifolium and other herbaceous plants.
