PEACH BLOSSOM MOTH Thyatira
batis
·
The Peach
Blossom Moth Thyatira batis (Thyatiridae) should pose no difficulties with identification as
the rather beautiful markings on the wings are unusual and distinctive, and the
vernacular name is apt and descriptive. As the larvae feed on Bramble Rubus fruticosus
agg. there is no
shortage of food-plant, and this moth is widespread in the UK. It is readily
attracted to light. The above photograph was taken in France.
