- This
distinctively marked and rather large lacewing Italochrysa italica
was attracted to an artificial light in southern France. It doesn't appear
to have an English common name (and given its striking appearance it
probably deserves one - if only for the benefit of visiting British
entomologists). One might suspect that this insect was originally
identified by an Italian! The 'Italian Lacewing' might therefore be a
reasonable suggestion for an Anglicised vernacular name.
