Fulmars Fulmaris glacilis
may bear a superficial resemblance to gulls but they are unrelated members of
the family Procellariidae
and therefore closely related to shearwaters and petrels. Observers are
advised not to approach these birds too closely as they are able to project the
oily and very unpleasant contents of their stomachs over some distance if they
feel threatened!
